Job Description: A Shift Incharge (Ferro Alloys) in a steel manufacturing company supervises production, manages personnel, ensures safety compliance (HSE), and maintains quality standards within a furnace/casting area. Key duties include monitoring furnace parameters, optimizing raw material usage, achieving production targets, and maintaining documentation. Key Responsibilities

- Production Management: Responsible for achieving daily production targets while maintaining strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for furnace and casting operations.
- Process Control: Monitor and adjust process parameters (e.g., furnace temperature, voltage, and raw material feed rates) to optimize production efficiency and slag chemistry.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and allocate tasks to operators and workers to ensure optimal productivity and safety compliance (TPM).
- Quality & Maintenance: Monitor quality and coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment like furnaces, cranes, and casting machines.
- Safety & Compliance:



Enforce rigorous safety regulations, ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and manage hazardous materials to prevent accidents.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed shift reports, production logs, raw material consumption logs, and chemical reports.

Qualifications

- Education: Typically a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in a Ferro-alloy plant or a similar metallurgical industry.
- Skills: Expertise in furnace operation, troubleshooting, team management, and understanding of raw material feed mixes.
