Role Description The Bakery and Pastry Lead is a full-time, on-site role based at the Coffee Mechanics cafe and roastery in HBR Layout, Bengaluru. This role is responsible for planning and executing daily baking and pastry production, including breads, desserts, and baked goods that complement the coffee menu. The Bakery and Pastry Lead will develop recipes, maintain production schedules, ensure quality and presentation standards, and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies.



Day-to-day work includes supervising baking processes, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, coordinating with the cafe team on menu offerings, and training and guiding junior kitchen staff. The role also involves collaborating with management to introduce new items, reduce waste, and support overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in bakery and pastry production, including breads, cakes, tarts, and other baked goods.
Experience in recipe development, menu planning, and portion control within a cafe or restaurant environment.
Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen organization.
Ability to lead and train kitchen team members, with solid time management and workflow planning skills.
Prior experience in an artisan bakery, patisserie, or specialty cafe is preferred.
