Lamda Unite Migration summary

Lambda Unite Multiservice Switch (MSS) is a next-generation multiservice optical switch that can be used as an ADM, terminal multiplexer, multi-ring hub, and broadband cross-connect. Lambda unite is based on Alcatel Lucent and need to migrat to Ciena platforms.Need provisioning guys in transmission area for NMS provisioning on transmission side. Move towards Packet Transmission Network PTN - existing one is SDH and need to reture those.

Product experience

Two resources should be aware of SDH work or Ethernet over SDH services. Ciena/Infinera based devices need to be installed, predominantly it would be Ciena based(90%). Products - Ciena 6500, 5142, 5170 etc, which are small edge boxes.Need hands-on experience on CCM inventory, Cable types, port type, provision to Ciena.

Experience

5 Years + experience more on provisioning side, support inventory . Transmission NOC The incumbent is responsible for:-Design and build IPL/EPL/ICBS related services and bearers to fullfil network migration projects requirements.

Liaison with both internal & external suppliers to timely provision services and bearers.

Ensure services records & inventory database are efficiently maintained.

Service & Bearer provisioning:•

- Design, Provision and Test circuits as requested by project managers or team.

- Design, Provision and Test bearers on transmission network to meet service migration requirements.

- Work with internal stakeholders for any network resource requirement to fulfil circuits and bearers provisioning.

- Support service migration/cutover.





- Ensure Provisioning milestone dates are met.

- Ensure meeting agreed Service migration KPI.

Service and Bearer Decommission:

- Decommissioning of idle circuit and bearers on transmission network.

- Support Project managers on transmission network decommission.

Service Records & Inventory Database:

- Ensure clean & up-to-date service records are maintained so that: -Services could be properly assured.Customer billing and invoice at Finance team done efficiently.

- Support data remediation and update inventory systems (CCMS/ Veritas).

Management Support:

- Provide regularly management reports when required.Proactively provide support to other team members and teams in the section to meet section objectives.

Stakeholder Management

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups and key internal stakeholders and maintain agreed external stakeholders relationships relevant to the achievement of business objectives

Business Knowledge:

- Proficient in developing circuit path via various international cable systems and domestic backhaul systems

- Proficient in technologies and standards for IPL/EPL (and bilateral)/ICBS services and products.

- In-depth knowledge of provisioning process for transmission network.In-depth knowledge of provisioning process for transmission network.

- Ability to make use of service database & inventory systems to maintain a clean and updated provisioning and service records for management purpose

- Ability to use the appropriate NMS for building services in the Telstra transmission equipment
