Role Description
Legrand is seeking a skilled Full Stack Windows Application Developer to maintain and develop a Windows desktop application used for monitored emergency lighting systems. This role focuses on maintaining a legacy Windows application, ensuring long‑term reliability, compatibility with new Microsoft Windows and Visual Studio releases, supporting ongoing functional updates, documentation, and customer‑requested modifications.
The position involves working with legacy code, hardware‑integrated systems, and structured databases while adhering to high standards of quality and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and develop a legacy Windows desktop application and its modules.
Compile, update, and support legacy source code using the latest Microsoft Visual Studio versions.
Ensure application compatibility with new Microsoft Windows releases.
Diagnose and resolve software defects and stability issues and implement enhancements and functional modifications in line with project requirements.
Maintain and update technical documentation and code comments.
Follow project priorities and report progress to the Team Leader.
Participate in team meetings and agile development cycles.

Experience using TDD (Test‑Driven Development) methodologies.
Experience with Azure DevOps tools.
Experience with databases or structured data storage.
A customer‑oriented approach with knowledge of UX/UI principles.
Experience upgrading applications to support newer Windows or Microsoft Visual Studio versions.
Strong customer‑focused mindset with attention to usability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or Computer Science.
Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Strong experience in C++ for native Windows development.
Solid knowledge of Win32 API and MFC.
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and MSBuild.
Experience in maintaining and enhancing existing/legacy Windows applications.
Understanding of hardware‑interfacing or system‑level software.
Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
