Position title

Senior Research Analyst I/II

Description

Working in Gurugram, India, you will be integrated with the unit that provides research support to A.T. Kearney consultants globally. Within this, you will join the PERLab (Product Engineering & Renewability) team that focuses on High tech, Consumer and Auto sectors delivering deep insight into the market dynamics to enhance the competitiveness of our clients and keep them ahead of rapidly evolving technologies, regulations, and consumer preferences with healthy gross margin

Key Responsibilities

· Own and manage commodity pricing & macroeconomics indicators around the world and Build algorithms for estimating/forecasting commodity pricing accurately. Develop & maintain a platform to share Kearny Economics internally & externally.

· Perform a research-centric role and support the development of artifacts such as use cases, commodity and should costing primers, fact packs, case studies, proposals, articles, whitepapers, and business development materials.

· Build and develop knowledge in one or more “spikes” (e.g. industry, function, or geography)

· Identify and determine the most appropriate, cost-effective, and timely research solutions to meet the needs

· Gather information using a broad spectrum of sources

· Synthesize the findings into targeted, firm-formatted end products with some interpretation of the “so what” of the research; end products including single exhibits, written summaries, basic fact packs, and spread-sheets, utilizing standard financial concepts, ratios, and calculations

· Build expertise by developing basic fact packs, and summaries, and be assigned portions of larger documents in your area of focus

· Prepare & circulate newsletters on global economic movements & impact to businesses

· Work with project team members to understand,



refine and prioritize their research needs

· Solid understanding of a specific content area and its salient issues form the basis for advancement at more senior levels of the Global Research career path

Reports to: Research Manager

· Request scoping/problem-solving: Good investigative problem-solving skills – ability to help refine and focus project team requests and objectives

· Source knowledge: Solid source knowledge in area of expertise, if relevant; increasing source quality recognition and use of possible proxies

· Industry/functional knowledge: An understanding of the landscape of the area of expertise(market shares, major players, etc.); Economic knowledge a must

· Research output: Excellent skills in synthesizing data into Firm- accepted formats to produce structured exhibits and spreadsheets and the extraction of the “so-what’s” from research

· Numerical/Financial skills: Good understanding of standard financial calculations, ratios and concepts and general business concepts and terminology

· Relationship building/networking: Proactive utilization of network within the IRC community and beginning of identification of experts in the wider firm community

Requirements

· 4-7 years of experience in working with commodities across the board, especially metals and minerals, electronics and Agri commodities.

· A post-graduate degree from a respected institution with demonstrated analytical expertise or one to two years of relevant business experience, preferably working in a research setting, or with demonstrated involvement in discrete research-type projects.

· Along with Post-graduation, graduation in Economics or any relevant technology-related course is preferred.

· Work experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred with knowledge/experience of multiple industries.

· Ideally, adding additional languages and multicultural experience
