Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Netezza Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with IBM Netezza (PureData System for Analytics), developing high-performance data pipelines, optimizing SQL queries, and working on complex ETL and data warehouse solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in Netezza architecture and a solid understanding of data modeling and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures on the Netezza platform.

- Develop and maintain scalable ETL processes to support data integration and transformation.

- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement tuning solutions for large datasets in Netezza.

- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient solutions.

- Lead or contribute to the migration of workloads to/from Netezza and integration with other databases (e.g., Snowflake, Teradata, DB2, Oracle).

- Maintain best practices for database design, performance,



and data security.

- Monitor system health, manage backups, and ensure data integrity and reliability.

- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

- 7+ years of experience in database development, with at least 4+ years specifically in IBM Netezza.

- Strong expertise in Netezza-specific SQL, NZPLSQL, and performance tuning.

- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Talend, or custom scripting.

- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

- Proficient in Unix/Linux shell scripting.

- Familiarity with other RDBMS platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.

- Experience with BI/reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, or MicroStrategy is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in cloud data platforms like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.

- Knowledge of Netezza replacement/migration strategies due to EOL support.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
