Relevant and total years of Experience
- Minimum 8 – 12 years of total experience

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES`
ACCOUNTABILITIES MAJOR ACTIVITIES Manage the legal aspects associated with real estate matters and ensure their timely mitigation with the objective of supporting project management, thereby safeguarding Apraava’s business interests
- To assist the Head (Legal) – Real Estate in conducting comprehensive risk assessment of the current land status for all projects.
- To coordinate with the relevant user teams in the Company in managing the land acquisition process for various Projects undertaken by the Company group; including but not limited to preparing due diligence reports, preparing risk matrix of the issues in the due diligence reports, providing risk mitigation strategies and way forward to the relevant user team; support and assist the Head (Legal) – Real Estate in the same.
- Support Apraava Energy commercial teams on contract management specifically in relation to land documentation and issues, including but not limited to drafting contracts with land aggregators, LBOP agreements with vendors etc.
- Select and engage appropriate legal counsel to conduct the due diligence exercise along with the Head (Legal) – Real Estate; supervise, oversee and guide task performed by the external legal counsel by addressing queries raised by them and review the DD document.
Monitor land acquisition and documentation thereof to protects Apraava Energy’s title and ownership over land
Assist the Head (Legal) – Real Estate in the following:
- In relation to new Projects, (a) collaborate with the Head - Land Management to ensure that acquisition of land is effectively managed, and (b) partner with the Construction Team to resolve Right of Way (RoW) matters for various Projects undertaken by the Company group.
- Ensure compliance with and periodically review the Standard Operating Procedures & Policies for Acquisition of Lands and review the same from time to time.
- Identify and evaluate legal and regulatory risks, compliance related issues and protect the company interests in the form of documentation along with providing inputs to the commercial teams.
- Ensure proper hand over of pending points related to land from the developer to Apraava Energy.
- To maintain the status of land titles for all real estate owned or leased by the company.
Land Document Management
- Manage and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive documents management system recording all the land title documents with the Land Cell,
- Ensure effective transition and resolution of handover of pending points related to land from the developer to Apraava Energy.
- To Complete ownership, custody and control of ownership / ROW / Lease / Mutation documentation for past, current and future projects.
- Assist in the resolution of complex land-related issues including transfer of sub-lease of forest and revenue land, transfer of ownership and disputes related to ownership and right of way etc. Sale purchase of new land for operations.
- Provide strategic support to the Head (Legal) – Real Estate in addressing/resolving any local disturbances or obstructions emanating from landowners or local administration that may impede project implementation or operations and coordinate with the local site teams as well as the Land Management Team,
- Regularly update the maintenance of the status of the land titles for all real estate owned or leased by the company and provide the update to the Head (Legal) – Real Estate and Business Teams as needed.
Act as a legal advisory to the Apraava Energy management to help achieve strategic objectives
- Actively participate providing inputs and assist the Head (Legal) – Real Estate in providing advice in strategic decision making on regulatory/policy advocacy, litigation, change in law/policy etc.
- Identify legal and regulatory risks, latest legal updates, compliance related issues and protect the company interests in the form of documentation along with providing inputs on commercial aspects in consultation with the Legal Counsel – Real Estate.
Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with external stakeholders to safeguard Apraava Energy’s interests
- Assist in stakeholder engagement efforts in collaboration with the commercial teams (e.g. government authorities, Electricity Regulatory Commissions) and internal stakeholders in relation to the project land as well as Right of Way.
- Manage and mitigate financial exposures arising from claims/ penalties / levies from revenue officials / forest officials and protect Apraava Energy’s exposure in this regard.
