Position Title: Senior Back-end Developer

Reporting To: Head of Platform Solutions

Location: Bangalore

The Senior Back-end Developer would play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of web applications. This role combines expertise in backend development with the ability to collaborate with frontend developers and work with databases.

The Senior Back-end Developer is expected to lead backend development projects, work closely with frontend developers to deliver fully functional web applications and contribute to the success of the development team by ensuring backend systems are robust, efficient, and secure.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

- 7-10 years’ experience in programming using Python
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL
- Experience with Django web framework and ReactJS.
- Experience in Operating Systems – Windows, Linux, MAC.

- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Key Responsibilities

- Backend Development: Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and web services that power web applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

- Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage databases, including data modeling, indexing, and query optimization. Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases is required.

- API Development: Create and maintain APIs for frontend applications and third-party integrations, following best practices and industry standards.

- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the backend code, database queries, and infrastructure to ensure optimal system performance.

- Security: Implement security best practices to protect against common web vulnerabilities, such as SQL injection,



cross-site scripting (XSS), and authentication and authorization mechanisms.

- Scalability: Architect and develop systems that can handle increased traffic and data volumes by implementing load balancing, caching, and other scalability strategies.

- Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend components.

- Code Review: Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards. Mentor junior developers and provide guidance as needed.

- Testing: Develop unit tests, integration tests, and perform debugging to identify and fix issues promptly.

- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems, APIs, and databases to facilitate understanding and maintenance by other team members.

- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in backend development and apply them to improve existing systems.

Technical Skills and Competencies

- Solid understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) model in the online environment.

- Work with our multidisciplinary core team consisting of professionals from tech, consulting, and business

- Proficiency in server-side development and optimization of data, including database creation and management and debugging.

- Data integration from various back-end services and databases





- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

- Understanding of distributed system concepts, including microservices architecture, service discovery, and message queues.

- Proficiency in setting up monitoring and logging solutions to track application performance and troubleshoot issues.

- Strong understanding of workflow-based logic.

- Strong documentation skills to create technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.

- Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum.

- Knowledge of emerging technologies/industry trends and its application into operations and activities

- Excellent MS Office Skills
