Sales and Marketing Intern

About Winvesta

Winvesta is an AI-native fintech on a mission to make cross-border payments and international investing seamless and affordable for Indians.

We build two live products: a Global Currency Account for Indian exporters receiving payments from foreign clients, and an international investing platform for Indian retail investors. Founded by Swastik Nigam (IIM-A, ex-Deutsche Bank London), Winvesta has been recognised as Fintech Product of the Year 2024, Best Payment Solution 2023, Best Emerging Fintech 2023, and FinTech Company of the Year 2020 for Asia Pacific.

The Reality of the Market

Most early careers in sales and marketing follow one of two tracks. You either go into content and campaigns — producing things, building brand, measuring reach — or you go into sales, where the work is commercial and the feedback is immediate. The two are treated as separate disciplines, staffed by different people, managed through different metrics.

That separation has always been somewhat artificial. The best marketing creates conversations that sales can walk into. The best sales people understand the market well enough to shape how the product is communicated. In a small, fast-moving company, the person who can do both — who can build the message and then go out and use it — is disproportionately more valuable than two people doing one thing each.

That is the role we are building here. And AI is what makes it possible for one person to do it well.

What Winvesta Offers

Before anything else — this is not that kind of sales job.

If your mental image of sales is someone dialling strangers from a list, pushing a product they barely understand onto people who did not ask to be called, hoping that volume alone produces a result — that is not this. That model exists. It produces the kind of experience that makes people dread unknown numbers. It is not a skill, it is a numbers game, and it does not compound.

What we do is different in a way that matters: we are selling something that people genuinely need, to people who are currently being quietly overcharged and do not always know it.

Every Indian business that exports services — every software firm, consultancy, agency, or freelancer receiving payments from a foreign client — is losing money today. Not because of any mistake on their part, but because the traditional banking system charges them for the privilege of receiving what they earned. The fees are high, the settlement is slow, and the process is opaque. Most of these businesses accept it because they do not know there is a better option.

Winvesta is that better option. Our Global Currency Account lets Indian exporters receive foreign currency payments faster, at a fraction of the cost, with full transparency. When someone signs up, they do not just get a product — they stop losing money they were losing without realising it.

That changes what both the sales and the marketing feel like. You are not convincing someone to try something new for the sake of it. You are finding people with a real problem, making sure they know the problem is solvable, and showing them how. The content you create and the conversations you have are in service of the same thing.

And when a client's situation does not fit neatly into what the product currently does, you do not log a lost opportunity and move on. You bring it back. The person in this role is one of the closest ears to the market we have. That feedback shapes what gets built. You are not just representing the product to the client. You are representing the client to the product.

You will use Claude as a daily work partner across everything — drafting content, researching prospects, building campaign briefs, preparing for conversations, analysing what worked. The skill you develop here — using AI to produce work at speed and then applying your own judgment to decide what is actually good — is one that most people in marketing and sales are still figuring out separately. You will develop it together.

The last month of your internship is an explicit adjudication period for a full-time offer. Both sides know this from Day 1.

What You Get

- Competitive stipend
- Direct daily access to the founding team — not a manager two levels removed
- Real campaigns and real client conversations from week one, not practice exercises
- Structured Claude onboarding in your first week, with AI-native skill development throughout
- Formal full-time assessment in the final month, with a clear and honest outcome either way

The Attitude We Need

We look for academic strength first — ideally 90% or above in both 10th and 12th. This role sits at the intersection of commercial thinking and creative judgment, and both require the same underlying capacity: the ability to reason carefully, produce correct outputs under pressure, and know the difference between something that works and something that only looks like it does.

We also look for logical and quantitative comfort. Valuable marketing is measurable. Good sales is numerical. We need someone who can look at campaign data and reason about what is driving conversion, who can build a simple outreach model, who asks "how would we know if this worked?" before the campaign launches, not after.

What we do not specify is a degree stream. Someone from any background can be exceptional at this combination. What is not negotiable is a genuine affinity for technology and an AI-native way of working. You use tools as a matter of course. You have been using Claude as part of your actual daily work — not as something you have tried a few times.

The last thing — and it matters for both halves of this role — is warmth. Content that sounds like it was written by a committee does not land. Sales conversations that feel scripted do not convert. We want someone that strangers find easy to engage with — genuinely curious about the people they are trying to reach, warm in conversation, and capable of communicating with enough clarity and humanity that the message actually gets through.

If you are the right person for this role, the bar we have described will feel like a reasonable expectation, not an obstacle.

The Role

- Produce content across formats — written, social, email, campaign briefs — that explains what Winvesta does and why it matters to the people who need it most
- Run campaigns end to end — from brief through production through distribution through measurement — and report on what worked and why
- Support SEO and organic growth that compounds over time
- Build prospect lists and craft cold outreach specific enough to earn a response — Claude does the research layer fast; your judgment makes the message human
- Handle inbound leads — qualify quickly and move conversations forward with the same rigour you apply to cold
- Manage warm pipeline — follow-ups, relationship maintenance, knowing when to push and when to wait
- Participate in client conversations as you develop, learning what real objections sound like and what distinguishes a prospect who will convert
- Surface product feedback — when a client's situation reveals a gap in what we offer, document it and bring it back internally

Proof of Work

We are not looking for a polished CV. We are looking for evidence of things you have actually made and used.

If you have published content — a post, a thread, an article, a campaign — link it. If you have used Claude to produce something, show us what it looked like before and after your edits and tell us why you changed what you changed. If you have sent outreach that got responses, show us the sequence and the result. If you have convinced someone of something they were resistant to, tell us that story specifically.

Proof of work does not have to span both sales and marketing. Show us whatever is real, and tell us what you did with it after.

Qualifications

What we require

- Based in Mumbai, able to commute to BKC daily — this is a fully in-office role
- Active Claude user — must have used it to produce real work outputs before applying, not just tried it
- Comfortable with technology and able to learn new tools independently
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from any degree programme

What we prefer:
- 90% or above in both 10th and 12th
- Evidence of published content, outreach sequences, or campaign work
- Prior exposure to a commercial or content-producing environment, even informally
- Familiarity with CRM tools, email platforms, or analytics dashboards

Logistics

Duration: 3–4 months minimum

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time, in-office at BKC, Mumbai

Stipend: Competitive — disclosed at offer stage To apply: Use the portal where you found this listing. In your application, include links to any proof of work — published content, outreach you have sent, Claude-produced outputs, or campaign results. If your work is not publicly shareable, describe it specifically in your application answers. Please do not reach out to team members directly.

If you are shortlisted, you will hear from us. We keep a close eye on responses and move quickly on candidates we want to speak to. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are not always able to provide individual feedback to those not selected — we regret that, and we mean it.
