Job Description – Procurement Executive

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Executive to manage the procurement of laboratory chemicals, reagents, consumables, glassware, equipment, and other laboratory requirements. The role involves vendor coordination, quotation comparison, purchase order processing, stock monitoring, and ensuring timely availability of materials while maintaining quality and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchase
Identify and procure laboratory chemicals, reagents, consumables, glassware, instruments, and other required materials.
Collect and compare quotations from approved suppliers based on price, quality, specifications, lead time, and payment terms.
Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Coordinate with laboratory and quality teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and company policies.

Laboratory Chemical Procurement




Procure chemicals based on required grade, purity, specification, pack size, and manufacturer requirements.
Verify batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, and Certificate of Analysis (COA) where applicable.
Ensure chemicals are purchased from approved or reliable suppliers.
Coordinate with the laboratory team regarding special or critical chemical requirements.
Give priority to materials with limited shelf life and ensure proper documentation.
Vendor Management
Develop and maintain a database of approved vendors and suppliers.
Coordinate with vendors regarding quotations, availability, delivery schedules, payment terms, and documentation.
Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service.
Negotiate prices and commercial terms wherever applicable.
Identify alternative suppliers to avoid procurement delays.
