About Winvesta

Winvesta is an AI-native fintech on a mission to make cross-border payments and international investing seamless and affordable for Indians.

We build two live products: a Global Currency Account for Indian exporters receiving payments from foreign clients, and an international investing platform for Indian retail investors. Founded by Swastik Nigam (IIM-A, ex-Deutsche Bank London), Winvesta has been recognised as Fintech Product of the Year 2024, Best Payment Solution 2023, Best Emerging Fintech 2023, and FinTech Company of the Year 2020 for Asia Pacific.

The Reality of the Market

Sales is one of the oldest functions in commerce and one of the most visibly disrupted by AI right now — in ways that most people in sales have not thought through clearly. The naive version is: AI writes your cold emails for you. That is true, and it is also why cold emails that look AI-generated get ignored faster than ever. Volume without relevance has always been the wrong approach. Now it is also the obvious approach, and obvious is the worst thing an opening message can be.

The more interesting version is this: AI can help you understand a prospect's situation in minutes, identify the specific problem your product solves for their specific circumstances, and draft a first message that is genuinely relevant. The people who use that capability well — across every type of sales motion, not just outbound — will systematically outperform the people who either ignore it or use it lazily. That gap is going to widen.

What Winvesta Offers

Before anything else — this is not that kind of sales job.

If your mental image of sales is someone dialling strangers from a list, pushing a product they barely understand onto people who did not ask to be called, hoping that volume alone produces a result — that is not this. That model exists. It produces the kind of experience that makes people dread unknown numbers. It is not a skill, it is a numbers game, and it does not compound.

What we do is different in a way that matters: we are selling something that people genuinely need, to people who are currently being quietly overcharged and do not always know it.

Every Indian business that exports services — every software firm, consultancy, agency, or freelancer receiving payments from a foreign client — is losing money today. Not because of any mistake on their part, but because the traditional banking system charges them for the privilege of receiving what they earned. The fees are high, the settlement is slow, and the process is opaque. Most of these businesses accept it because they do not know there is a better option.

Winvesta is that better option. Our Global Currency Account lets Indian exporters receive foreign currency payments faster, at a fraction of the cost, with full transparency. When someone signs up, they do not just get a product — they stop losing money they were losing without realising it.

That changes what sales feels like. You are not convincing someone to try something new for the sake of it. You are reaching someone who has a real problem, explaining clearly that the problem is solvable, and showing them how. When it lands,

it lands because it is true — not because you were persistent enough to wear them down.

And when a client's situation does not fit neatly into what the product currently does, you do not log a lost opportunity and move on. You bring it back. At our scale, the sales function is one of the closest ears to the market we have. The person in this role actively surfaces what clients need that we do not yet offer — and that feedback shapes what gets built. You are not just representing the product to the client. You are representing the client to the product.

You will work across the full sales motion — cold outreach, inbound follow-up, and warm pipeline — all using Claude as a daily work partner. You will develop fluency across the entire arc of how a prospect becomes a client.

The last month of your internship is an explicit adjudication period for a full-time offer. Both sides know this from Day 1.

What You Get

- Competitive stipend, disclosed at offer stage
- Direct daily access to the founding team — not a manager two levels removed
- Real client conversations and live pipeline from week one, not role-plays
- Structured Claude onboarding in your first week, with AI-native skill development throughout
- Formal full-time assessment in the final month, with a clear and honest outcome either way

The Attitude We Need

We look for academic strength first — ideally 90% or above in both 10th and 12th. Sales done properly is a logical discipline as much as it is a communication one. It requires the ability to build a mental model of a prospect's situation, reason about where your product fits, anticipate objections before they are raised, and adjust your approach in real time. That kind of structured, adaptive thinking correlates strongly with the kind of mind that does well under academic pressure.

We also look for quantitative and logical comfort. Pipeline conversion rates, deal economics, outreach-to-response ratios: understanding what these numbers mean and what to do about them requires a logical orientation that not everyone has naturally.

What we do not specify is a degree stream. We are entirely indifferent to what you studied. What is not negotiable is a genuine affinity for technology and an AI-native way of working. You use tools as a matter of course. You have been using Claude as part of your actual daily work — not as something you have tried a few times.

The last thing — and it is hard to teach — is warmth. We want someone that strangers find easy to talk to. Not polished, not rehearsed. Genuinely warm. The kind of person who ends a cold call and leaves the other side feeling like the conversation was worth their time, even if nothing came of it immediately.

If you are the right person for this role, the bar we have described will feel like a reasonable expectation, not an obstacle.

The Role

- Cold outreach — build prospect lists, research the right contacts, and craft opening messages specific enough to earn a response; Claude does the research layer fast, your judgment makes the message human
- Inbound handling — respond to leads who have shown interest, qualify quickly, and move conversations forward with the same rigour you apply to cold
- Warm pipeline — manage follow-ups, keep relationships alive, know when to push and when to wait
- Pipeline discipline — keep the CRM accurate and the pipeline honest, because a pipeline that cannot tell you what is real is not a pipeline
- Client conversations — participate in early-stage calls as you develop, learning what real objections sound like and what distinguishes a prospect who will convert
- Product feedback loop — when a client's situation reveals a gap in what we offer, document it, bring it back, and make the case internally for what needs to change

Proof of Work

We are not looking for a polished CV. We are looking for evidence of things you have actually done.

If you have sent cold outreach that got responses — show us the sequence and the result. If you have used Claude to research a prospect or draft a message — show us what you built and what you changed from the first draft. If you have handled an inbound lead, managed a relationship, or convinced someone of something they were resistant to — tell us the story specifically.

Proof of work does not have to be formally commissioned. It has to be real, and you have to be able to tell us what you did with it after.

Qualifications

What we require

- Based in Mumbai, able to commute to BKC daily — this is a fully in-office role
- Active Claude user — must have used it to produce real work outputs before applying, not just tried it
- Genuinely warm in conversation — comfortable talking to strangers and leaving them glad they spoke to you
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from any degree programme

What we prefer:
- 90% or above in both 10th and 12th
- Evidence of outreach sent, responses received, or relationships built
- Prior exposure to a sales, client-facing, or commercial environment
- Knowledge of or curiosity about how Indian exporters operate and get paid

Logistics

Duration: 3–4 months minimum Work schedule: Monday to Friday, full time, in-office at BKC, Mumbai Stipend: Competitive — disclosed at offer stage To apply: Use the portal where you found this listing. In your application, include any proof of work — outreach sequences, response rates, Claude-produced drafts, or examples of conversations that converted. If your work is not publicly shareable, describe it specifically in your application answers. Please do not reach out to team members directly.

If you are shortlisted, you will hear from us. We keep a close eye on responses and move quickly on candidates we want to speak to. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are not always able to provide individual feedback to those not selected — we regret that, and we mean it.
