Company Description Vasundhara_Odisha is an Action Research Organization focused on Natural Resources Governance, Conservation, and Sustainable Livelihoods, primarily in the state of Odisha. Established in 1991 and registered as a society in 1992, the organization works closely with communities to strengthen sustainable resource management practices. Vasundhara_Odisha began its journey by supporting self-initiated community forestry groups engaged in conserving and managing community forests. Today, it continues to build community capacities, influence policy, and promote inclusive, ecosystem-based development. Role Description The Geographic Information System (GIS) Assistant is a full time, on-site role based in Bhubaneswar. The role involves supporting the development and maintenance of GIS databases, maps, and spatial datasets related to natural resources, community forestry, and livelihoods. The GIS Assistant will perform routine GIS analysis,



prepare thematic maps and visualizations for reports, presentations, and field teams, and assist in integrating spatial data with other project information. Daily tasks include data entry, quality checks, updating spatial layers, and coordinating with program staff to understand mapping and analysis needs. The role also involves contributing to documentation, supporting field surveys and data collection when required, and ensuring secure and organized management of geospatial data.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GIS Analysis, with experience using common GIS software and tools.
