Our client is into manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders for all types of applications in construction, automotive and machine building industries. We are looking for experienced, Dynamic safety officer with attention to detail in the area of safety of people, equipment and Workplace. He shall be highly strategic and well versed in driving safety culture for a manufacturing plant with diverse work force and contract labours.

Description of the role

The Quality Engineer is responsible for overall Quality of product and process, which includes control of incoming, in-process and outgoing Quality of our products. He is also responsible for handling of customer complaints both from the line and field failures and drive for continuous improvements on Quality.

- Understand customer Needs and continually improve to surpass these requirements.

- Devise and review Quality systems across plant operations to deliver zero defects.

- Supervise and guide operations teams to common goal of zero defect

- Inculcate and nurture a spirit of continuous improvement in Quality, involving 100% of the employees in the plant. Through six sigma culture, QCC, Kaizen schemes etc.

- Oversee all development activities and proactively identify and resolve all possible deviations which can affect Quality of product/processes.

- Keep all documents related to Quality,



perform statistical analysis and drive for improvements.

- Prepare MIS and share detailed reports on Quality to senior management.

- Have regular reviews, meetings with operations team to continuously improve on Quality.

- Frequent reviews and visits to customer for feedback on quality and proactive improvements.

- Challenge existing processes/designs/specifications (even at customer product level) and plan for improvements

- Field visits to understand end customer pains and plan for improvements

Requirements

- DME/BE in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8-10 years’ of experience of which at least 3 years should be in a similar role in a reputed company (Tier-II or Tier-III).

- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer

- Must be Six sigma Green belt (minimum) with min 2-3 projects handled in a year

- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes like Steel machining, heat treatment, welding, plating, painting, assembly, and product testing.

- Leadership qualities

- Eye for detail and result oriented approach

- Proficient with MS office

- Excellent communication skills

- Working knowledge of statistical analysis. SPC, control charts and use ofminitab or equivalent

- Problem solving skills – use of 8D methodology, SS tools, QCC, Kaizens, TPM..etc
