We have been retained to hire a seasoned Project Director (EPC - Offshore) for a leading EPC service provider and Equipment supplier to the Oil & Gas, Defense and Power Sector in India.

Position Objective :

To spearhead and oversee the execution of high-profile turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) offshore projects. This leadership role demands a professional with extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary projects within the Oil & Gas, Defense, and Power sectors.

The Project Director will ensure seamless execution of projects involving design engineering, procurement, supply, installation, and commissioning of equipment, maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

- Lead end-to-end project management for turnkey EPC projects across focus sectors, including Oil & Gas platforms, marine vessels and refineries.

- Develop and implement project strategies to meet contractual, financial, and operational objectives.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

- Oversee project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality parameters.

- Leverage expertise to optimize project workflows and resource allocation.

Technical Oversight:

- Ensure compliance with design engineering standards for specialized equipment installations, including HVAC and firefighting systems.

- Provide technical guidance and solutions to resolve on-site challenges.

Stakeholder Management:

- Act as the primary interface between clients, internal teams, contractors, and joint venture partners.

- Foster strong relationships with clients by ensuring transparency and timely project updates.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure all projects comply with local and international safety, environmental, and industry-specific standards.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and integrate compliance into project planning.





Team Leadership & Development:

- Lead, mentor, and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Risk Management:

- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively to ensure uninterrupted progress.

- Develop contingency plans to address potential issues.

Performance Metrics:

- Establish and monitor project KPIs to ensure operational excellence.

- Drive accountability and ensure projects deliver measurable outcomes.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Offshore Engineering (mandatory).

- Master’s degree or MBA in Project Management or equivalent (preferred).

Experience:

- 15+ years of experience managing large-scale EPC projects, particularly in Oil & Gas, Defence, or Power sectors.

- ​Proven expertise in executing projects involving design, supply, installation, and commissioning of specialized equipment.

Technical Proficiency:

- Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles and offshore engineering.

- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and methodologies.

- Leadership & Communication:

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients and stakeholders.

Regulatory Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry certifications.

Certifications:

PMP, Prince2, or equivalent certifications (preferred).
