Job Title:
Production Chemist – Manufacturing Unit (Nutritional Feed Supplements for Poultry & Aquaculture)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Production Chemist to oversee and execute production and quality control activities within our manufacturing unit specializing in nutritional feed supplements for poultry and aquaculture. The candidate will ensure smooth production operations while maintaining stringent quality standards in compliance with GMP and ISO systems.
Key Responsibilities:
v Execute production activities in alignment with the production planning schedule, ensuring productive workflow in manufacturing and packing processes.
v Supervise manufacturing shifts by planning and allocating manpower effectively, ensuring optimal work distribution and continuous monitoring of team performance.
v Manage allocation and monitoring of utilities (steam, compressed air, water, power) critical for production schedules, ensuring all utilities operate efficiently without interruptions.
v Coordinate closely with the Warehouse team to ensure timely availability of raw materials, aligning procurement with production needs to prevent delays.
v Conduct quality control (QC) analysis of in-process samples and finished products to approve or reject batches, maintaining product quality and safety standards.
v Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to enforce GMP, ISO, and other regulatory compliance requirements within production, ensuring all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed meticulously.
v Maintain accurate documentation, including Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), logbooks,
calibration records, and other GMP/ISO-required records to support audit readiness and process traceability.
v Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping practices across production areas, process and utility equipment, and general factory premises to maintain safety and operational efficiency.
v Troubleshoot production and quality issues promptly, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize downtime and quality defects.
v Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements for product quality, productivity, and efficiency.
v Validate and calibrate laboratory and process equipment as per standard protocols to ensure consistent performance.
v Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines within the production unit.
v Possess comprehensive working knowledge of batch manufacturing processes for liquid and powder feed supplements, including ingredient handling, mixing, and packaging.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. B. Tech in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry.
2. At least 2 to 4 years of experience in quality control or production of pharmaceutical or nutritional supplements, particularly in powder and liquid formulations.
3. Experience with specialty chemicals related to cleaning and hygiene is advantageous.
4. Strong understanding of GMP, ISO standards, and quality management systems.
5. Proficient in documentation and batch record management.
6. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues.
7. Good communication and coordination skills.
