- Oversee procurement of materials from vendors according to scheduled targets for mass production, ensuring alignment with production timelines.
- Resource Management: Proactively ensure timely availability of raw materials, scheduling, and on-time dispatches to meet production demands.
- Supplier Selection: Choose suppliers based on their expertise and product design requirements to achieve high quality and manufacturability standards.
- Vendor Support: Provide continuous support to vendors for process improvement, cost reduction, and achieving savings.
- Procurement Focus: Specialize in procurement and inventory control with a focus on new supplier evaluation and selection.
- Communication Management: Maintain clear and consistent communication with suppliers to prevent unexpected shortages and ensure smooth operations.
- Quality and Process Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) to ensure first-time-right product delivery as per R&D; and engineering specifications.
- Supplier Engagement: Attend meetings with suppliers to address materials procurement and supply chain challenges, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Project Monitoring: Conduct weekly supplier visits to ensure adherence to recent project requirements and mutually agreed time plans.
- Project Reporting: Present weekly updates to the Project Management Office (PMO) and higher management on critical project deliveries.
- Tooling and Quality Assurance: Ensure new products are developed with the appropriate tooling, fixtures, and gauges, handling.
- Process Audits: Perform monthly process audits at supplier sites to maintain quality standards.
- Documentation and Coordination:



Arrange PPAP documents from vendors for handover to the quality team and coordinate with suppliers on Engineering Change Notices (ECN) updates in projects.
- Supplier Management: Decide the share of the business (SOB) percentage for vendors based on Quality, Commercial, and Delivery (QCD) criteria; manage tooling payment advances and follow-ups.
- Purchase Order and Vendor Audits: Finalize Purchase Orders (POs) and conduct regular vendor audits and follow-ups.
- Reporting and Systems Knowledge: Maintain daily and monthly MIS reports and demonstrate knowledge of ERP/SAP for effective procurement management.
- Vendor Selection & part development for the new project as per target plan. Delivering cost savings for the company via VAVE, Alternate sourcing, SOB Rejig.
