### Responsibilities

- Perform cataract surgeries using advanced phacoemulsification (phaco) techniques with precision and safety.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose a broad spectrum of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and refractive errors.
- Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment such as OCT, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, and retinal imaging for accurate assessment and monitoring.
- Manage all outpatient department (OPD) procedures, including patient consultations, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, ensuring optimal recovery and minimizing complications.
- Collaborate with other medical specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmic surgery, clinical research, and evidence-based practices through continuous professional development.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical audits and patient safety protocols.

### Requirements





- MBBS degree with postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (D.O. or DNB in Ophthalmology).
- Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital or specialty eye care setting.
- Proven expertise in performing phacoemulsification (phaco) cataract surgeries with demonstrated surgical proficiency and safety records.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical and diagnostic methodologies specific to ophthalmology, including advanced imaging and functional testing.
- Robust understanding of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to patients and families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team under time-sensitive conditions.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital diagnostic tools.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Council (NMC) and relevant state medical council.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and emergency ophthalmic care as required.
