:

A Management Information System (MIS) Officer/Software Engineer is a hybrid role bridging the gap between business operations and technical IT infrastructure. This individual is responsible for planning, designing, maintaining, and developing computer systems, databases, and software applications to ensure productive data management and reporting for decision-making, while also providing software development support.

Key Responsibilities

- Data Management & Reporting: Collect, cleanse, and analyze data from various departments (finance, sales, HR) to generate accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports and dashboards.

- System Maintenance & Development: Manage and upgrade database systems (SQL) and in-house applications to improve functionality.

- Software Development: Assist in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment of software tools.

- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide in-house system support, troubleshooting both software and hardware issues.

- Data Security & Integrity: Implement security measures (backups, antivirus, firewalls) to protect sensitive company information.

- Process Automation: Develop automated workflows to enhance reporting efficiency and reduce manual errors, often using Excel VBA/Macros or Python.

- System Integration: Ensure seamless integration between MIS tools, ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics, SAP), and other software applications.





- User Training & Support: Train staff on MIS tools, software functionalities, and data management best practices.

Required Technical Skills

- Databases: Strong proficiency in SQL (queries, stored procedures, database design) and relational database management systems.

- Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as C#, .NET, Java, or Python for developing custom applications.

- Reporting/BI Tools: Advanced expertise in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, VBA) and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.

- Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with networking, servers (Linux/Windows), and web technologies.

- ERP Familiarity: Experience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics 365 or SAP is highly valued.

Qualifications & Soft Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

- Experience: 5+ years in MIS, data analysis, or software development.

- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable business insights.

- Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and top management.

- Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic skills to identify and fix system issues quickly.
