Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Lead Kaizen events and workshops across the manufacturing floor to identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and outcomes of improvement projects.
- Process Optimization and Standardization:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including engineering, quality, and supply chain) to standardize manufacturing processes across production lines and facilities.
- Identify best practices and implement process improvements to reduce downtime, enhance throughput, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Cost Management and Resource Optimization:
- Work closely with the operations and finance teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and optimize resource allocation.
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and lower production costs without compromising on quality.
- Project Management:
- Manage large-scale manufacturing improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate new technologies, machinery, and process improvements into existing manufacturing operations.
- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO, GMP, etc.) and regulatory compliance across all manufacturing activities.
- Implement robust quality control processes to monitor product defects and minimize variations.
- Training and Capability Development:
- Mentor and train manufacturing teams to improve technical skills, process understanding, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by providing training on Lean and Six Sigma principles to staff at all levels.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with senior management to align manufacturing excellence goals with broader business objectives.
- Act as a liaison between manufacturing operations and other business functions (R&D;, Supply Chain, IT) to ensure effective integration of process improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
- Experience:
- At least 15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role focused on operational excellence and process improvement.
- Proven expertise in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and executing large-scale process improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with contemporary manufacturing technologies, automation, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MES).
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams at all levels.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing intelligence tools and data analytics platforms.
