Individuals in this role are responsible for checking inbound or outbound goods,
recording information regarding the shipment of goods, allocating work, and supervising the loading and unloading function.
Key responsibilities
- Supervision: Coordinate and supervise the activities of workers involved in loading and unloading.
- Task assignment: Assign jobs to workers based on schedules and loading/unloading plans.
- Safety: Ensure all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with company and legal standards to prevent damage and injuries.
- Quality control: Inspect items for damage or discrepancies during the loading and unloading process.
- Documentation: Verify that materials loaded or unloaded match the work order or bill of lading.
- Workflow optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow, minimize downtime, and ensure productive movement of goods.
