Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly accomplished Engineering Leader – Java to lead large-scale enterprise development programs. The role demands solid hands-on Java architecture expertise, client-facing leadership, and proven experience managing large engineering organizations (100+ members) delivering mission-critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology & Architecture Leadership

Lead the design, architecture, and development of large-scale, high-availability Java-based enterprise platforms.

Define and govern Java technology standards, coding practices, architecture guidelines, and performance benchmarks.

Drive modernization initiatives including microservices, cloud-native architectures, API platforms, and event-driven systems.

Ensure systems meet security, scalability, reliability, and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to BFSI and payments.

Delivery & Engineering Excellence

Own end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-year engineering programs.

Establish best practices in Agile / DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and quality engineering.

Drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery predictability.

Manage risks, dependencies, and technical debt across multiple products and platforms.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a trusted technology advisor to clients, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Lead client-facing discussions including architecture reviews, roadmap planning, and technical governance forums.

Partner closely with product, business, and compliance stakeholders to deliver value-driven solutions.

Team & Organization Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead large engineering teams (100+ members)



across multiple pods/squads.

Develop engineering leadership pipelines including architects, engineering managers, and tech leads.

Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Drive workforce planning, talent development, and succession strategies.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure adherence to BFSI / Payments regulatory standards, data privacy, and security frameworks.

Oversee technology audits, architecture governance, and compliance certifications.

Collaborate with InfoSec and Risk teams to mitigate technology and operational risks.

Required Technical Skills

Core Java (Java 8+), Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate

Enterprise architecture for high-volume transactional systems

Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems

Experience with payments platforms, banking systems, or fintech products

Databases: RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL

Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

CI/CD tools, DevOps practices, and automation frameworks

Strong understanding of security, encryption, authentication, and authorization

Domain Expertise

BFSI / Banking / Payments / Fintech or Any Domain

Transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation

Regulatory compliance, risk, and security considerations

High availability, low latency, and fault-tolerant systems

Leadership & Soft Skills

Proven experience managing large, diverse engineering teams (100+ people)

Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills

Strategic thinking with hands-on technical depth

Ability to influence senior leadership and drive transformation initiatives

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
