Role Description The Massage Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kanyakumari district. The Massage Therapist will provide professional therapeutic and body massage services to students, staff, and visitors, focusing on relaxation, stress reduction, and overall wellness. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting client consultations, assessing client needs, delivering appropriate massage techniques such as Shiatsu and other therapeutic modalities, and maintaining detailed records of sessions. The role also involves preparing treatment areas, ensuring hygiene and safety standards, and collaborating with institute staff to schedule appointments and support wellness initiatives. The Massage Therapist is expected to deliver respectful, client-centered care and contribute to a calm, professional environment.
Qualifications
Ability to perform a range of massage techniques, including Therapeutic Massage and Body Massage,
tailored to client needs.
Knowledge and practical experience in Shiatsu or similar specialized massage modalities.
Strong Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and maintaining skilled boundaries.
Skills in Stress Management techniques to help clients reduce tension and improve overall well-being.
Formal training or certification in massage therapy from a recognized institution; local or national licensure where applicable.
Understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for massage, with a focus on client safety.
Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in treatment areas and follow institutional policies and procedures.
Capacity to work on-site full time in Kanyakumari district, manage a scheduled caseload, and maintain reliable attendance.
