JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrument Engineer with a solid background in industrial instrumentation and control systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of plant instrumentation—from installation and commissioning to maintenance and calibration. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage project execution, ensure 100% regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in plant reliability and process safety.

DETAILED KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Instrumentation Installation & Maintenance

Oversee the end-to-end installation, commissioning, loop wiring, and maintenance of diverse industrial instruments including control valves (On/Off, Safety, PCV, PRV) and flow meters (Mass, Magnetic,

Orifice, Vortex).

Manage sophisticated level measurement systems (Radar, DPT, Ultrasonic) and pressure transmitters.

Supervise technical activities related to load cells, weighing balances, and tank weighing systems.

Ensure robust MCC–DCS/PLC wiring and proper integration of all field instrumentation.

- Automation & Control Systems

Apply a deep understanding of PID controllers, I/P converters, pneumatic controls, and actuators to optimize plant performance.

Coordinate with senior leadership to perform modifications and high-level maintenance of PLC, DCS,

and SCADA systems.

- Calibration & Documentation Management

Lead scheduled calibration and preventive maintenance activities for RTDs, Thermocouples (T/C),



MFTs,

and control valves.

Interpret and utilize technical engineering documents such as P&IDs;, instrument hook-up drawings, GA drawings, and cable schedules.

Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including history cards, calibration reports, and operational logbooks in compliance with quality audits.

- Troubleshooting & Project Execution

Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for instrument-related failures to minimize operational downtime.

Direct instrumentation tasks for new projects, ensuring timely commissioning and seamless integration into existing plant systems.

- Procurement & Inventory Optimization

Coordinate with the purchase and stores departments for strategic spare parts planning and vendor development.

Identify critical spares to ensure plant continuity and explore opportunities for import substitution.

- Safety, Compliance & Team Leadership

Ensure absolute compliance with regulatory documentation and internal/external audit requirements.

Adhere to all plant safety procedures and contribute to the maintenance of process safety systems.

Supervise and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.

Manage all maintenance and procurement transactions accurately through the SAP/ERP system.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Expertise in field instrumentation, automation, and process control logic.

Proficiency in reading technical drawings (P&IDs;) and managing project documentation.

Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and process optimization.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams.

Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
