The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing a wide variety of products and systems. The Design Engineer must be able to develop creative solutions to complex problems, and work with other engineers, designers, and vendors. The Design Engineer is also responsible for understanding the customer needs and translating them into product specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Understand customer needs and translate them into product specifications
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and vendors to develop creative solutions to complex problems
- Work on design projects from conception through production launch
- Develop CAD models for parts or assemblies using SolidWorks or other appropriate software packages
- Perform engineering calculations using computer aided design software packages or other appropriate software packages
