Call for Applications for Head of Operations – ANNAM.AI

Location: ANNAM.AI, Center of Excellence in AI for Agriculture, IIT Ropar

Type: Full-Time | Contractual | Renewable based on performance

Compensation: ₹15-₹ 25 Lakhs per annum

Tenure: Initial appointment for 2 years, extendable up to 5 years

Age Limit: Preferably under 45 years; Minimum experience of 10+ years

Role Summary

ANNAM.AI Foundation is looking for an experienced skilled in the position of Head of Operations to lead the setup, execution, and scaling of the Annam Information Center (AIC).

The Head of Operations will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for establishing core systems, overseeing daily operations, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving operational excellence across the project. This role demands a leader who can take ownership of building the center from scratch — from licensing and compliance to team building and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership | Project Execution | Stakeholder Engagement & Ecosystem Building | Team Leadership | Governance & Reporting

- Set up and operationalize the Annam Information Center — including infrastructure, licensing, and team formation

- Define, implement, and optimize operational strategies, workflows, and service delivery models

- Lead licensing,



regulatory compliance, and government liaison activities

- Build and manage cross-functional teams — AI experts, agriculture professionals, and support staff

- Develop and enforce SOPs for AI-based query handling and expert support escalation

- Monitor operational KPIs, budgets, and timelines to ensure seamless execution

- Collaborate with leadership for strategic decisions, partnerships, and expansion plans

- Represent the project in discussions with government bodies, partners, and institutional stakeholders

- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance within the team

- Prepare and present regular progress reports and operational updates to the Governing Board.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications and Skills

A postgraduate degree in Management, Operations, or related field. Exposure to agriculture or AI-driven projects is a plus.

Experience: Proven experience in operations leadership, project management, and institutional setup. Hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, government liaison, and compliance is preferred.
