Job Summary:

The Credit Manager – Mortgages is responsible for the credit assessment and approval of mortgage loan applications in accordance with the bank’s credit policy and regulatory guidelines. The role involves evaluating customer profiles, assessing risk, ensuring documentation completeness, and maintaining portfolio quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and evaluate mortgage loan applications, including income assessment, property evaluation, and risk profiling.

Approve cases within delegated authority or escalate to higher authorities for approval.

Ensure adherence to credit policy, compliance, and regulatory norms (RBI, NHB, etc.).

Conduct credit checks and analyze credit bureau reports (CIBIL, Equifax, etc.).

Collaborate with sales and operations teams for smooth processing and TAT adherence.

Identify early warning signals and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.





Participate in portfolio reviews and audits to ensure credit quality.

Ensure timely disbursement by coordinating with internal teams and validating final documentation.

Provide feedback and training to the sales and operations team on credit policies and common rejection reasons.

Key Requirements:

2+ years of experience in retail credit underwriting, preferably in mortgages/home loans.

Solid knowledge of credit appraisal processes and documentation.

Familiarity with credit bureau reports and score interpretation.

Good analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

Working knowledge of legal and technical aspects of property evaluation.
