:

Lead the electrical department to ensure 24/7 operational efficiency of the SAF furnaces, transformers, and EOT cranes. The HOD is responsible for minimizing downtime, reducing energy consumption, enforcing safety regulations, and managing a team of engineers and technicians.

Core Responsibilities

- Operations & Maintenance: Develop and execute Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Schedules (PMS) for furnace transformers, VFDs, PLC/SCADA systems, switchgear (HT/LT), and motors to ensure maximum uptime.

- Furnace Management: Specialized monitoring and maintenance of Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF), including electrode positioning systems and furnace transformer operations.

- Fault Analysis: Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting major breakdowns and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to improve reliability.

- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, including Electrical Safety Standards, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and PPE usage in high-temperature environments.

- Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage shift electrical technicians and contract staff, ensuring effective manpower allocation.

- Energy Management:



Develop strategies for power consumption optimization and energy efficiency to reduce production costs.

- Inventory Management: Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to ensure critical spares are available for breakdown maintenance.

Required Technical Skills & Expertise

- High Voltage Systems: Deep knowledge of 132 KV/33 KV sub-stations, VCBs, SF6 breakers, and OLTC maintenance.

- Automation: Proficiency in PLC/SCADA systems, VFDs, and motor control.

- Machinery: Specialized experience with SAF furnace transformers.

- Instrumentation: Knowledge of relay settings, protection circuits, and ABT meters.

Education and Experience Requirements

- Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

- Experience: 15–20 years in electrical maintenance, with 5+ years of experience specifically in Ferro Alloys or Steel manufacturing plants.
