A TS&D; Engineer will provide technical expertise and application development support for Engineered Materials & Polymer Solutions (i.e. ABS, PC/ABS, PMMA, TPE, and TPU). Work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to drive material qualification, troubleshooting, innovation, cost optimization, and business growth across automotive and plastics applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot customer issues, and recommend suitable polymer solutions from Trinseo Portfolio (i.e. ABS, PC/ABS, PMMA, TPE, and TPU).
- Lead customer trials, material qualification, and application development activities.
- Drive technical discussions with customers and cross-functional teams to support product adoption and business growth.
- Investigate quality, processing, and performance issues through root cause analysis and data-driven recommendations.
- Coordinate material testing, validation, benchmarking, and technical reporting.
- Identify value engineering and cost-optimization opportunities using Trinseo material solutions.
- Support new product development, localization, and compliance-related activities, including IMDS and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical databases and facilitate collaboration between customers, Sales, R&D;, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Polymer/Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science, or CIPET.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical service, application development, or customer support within the polymers/plastics industry.
