Responsibilities:

1. Operation of DM Plant Equipment: Operate and control demineralization plant equipment including filters, ion exchange units, pumps, valves, and associated instruments to ensure the production of demineralized water meets required standards.

2. Monitoring Parameters: Monitor and control parameters such as flow rates, pressure differentials, pH levels, conductivity, and quality of water to ensure compliance with specified standards and optimize plant performance.

3. Routine Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of DM plant equipment, pipelines, and associated components to identify any abnormalities, leaks, or malfunctions. Take necessary corrective actions or report issues to maintenance teams for timely repairs.

4. Regeneration of Resins: Perform regeneration of ion exchange resins as per the schedule to maintain their effectiveness and longevity. Handle chemicals safely and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed in accordance with environmental regulations.

5. Calibration and Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain instrumentation and control devices such as flow meters, pressure gauges, pH meters, and conductivity meters to ensure accurate readings and reliable operation of the DM plant.

6. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process deviations, diagnose problems, and implement corrective measures to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operation of the DM plant.

7. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while carrying out plant operations.



Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations governing water treatment and discharge.

8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of plant operation parameters, maintenance activities, chemical consumption, and water quality analysis. Generate reports as required by management or regulatory authorities.

9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other plant personnel including maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate activities, share information, and achieve common production goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; additional technical certification or training in water treatment or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining demineralization plant equipment, preferably in a steel manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of water treatment processes, ion exchange principles, and chemical dosing systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs;, and equipment manuals.
- Proficient in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to chemical handling and plant operations.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a demanding industrial environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy equipment when necessary.
