The Design Engineer specializing in Facade is responsible for designing and engineering building facades to ensure their functionality, performance, and aesthetic appeal. They will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable facade designs that meet project requirements and adhere to applicable codes and standards.

The Design

Engineer - Facade will utilize their expertise in facade engineering to create detailed designs, conduct structural analysis, and oversee the implementation of facades for various building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints related to the facade design.
- Develop concept designs and create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for building facades.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the structural integrity and safety of facade systems.
- Select appropriate facade materials and systems based on performance requirements, including glass, metal, stone, composite, and others.
- Evaluate and incorporate sustainable design principles into the facade, such as energy efficiency, thermal performance, and daylighting.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards for facade design and installation.

- Collaborate with fabrication and installation teams to oversee the implementation of facade designs, ensuring quality and adherence to design intent.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in facade technology, and emerging materials to incorporate into design practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.



Master's degree is preferred. • Proven experience in facade design and engineering, with a focus on building projects.
- Proficiency in CAD and other design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, or similar applications.
- Strong knowledge of facade systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Experience in structural analysis and design, including wind load analysis and performance calculations.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards for facades.
- Understanding of sustainable design principles and their application to facades.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate and precise technical drawings.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
