As a Data Scientist Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the following tasks:

- Adapt a generic classification algorithm based on keywords for specific regions, sources, and displacement types.
- Help to develop a methodology to distinguish flow and stock displacement data from text.
- Extract and harmonize displacement information from historical Excel files.
- Adapt data extraction pipelines using Large Language Models via prompt engineering for conflict.
- Develop a methodology to match conflict and disaster events to existing displacement figures.
- Develop a methodology to rank the relevance of displacement sources.
- Build UX annotator modules to highlight extracted information for specific sources.
- Implementing automated quality control measures to ensure the reliability of the extracted data.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

- Degree in data science or related field.
- 3 years of experience in data analysis and data mining.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with a robust grasp of advanced object-oriented programming concepts.
- Demonstrated proficiency using GitHub.
- Strong understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods.
- Experience with Large Language Models
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preference for candidates in or near the GTM+2 time zone
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages such as French or Spanish is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
