About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team and lead the development, management, and validation of critical data assets. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to create, validate, and maintain data standards, quality rules, and business glossaries. If you have experience in data stewardship, data quality management, and are comfortable working with tools like Collibra DGC, this role could be an exciting next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities:

Use Case Development:

- Support the business team in creating, validating, and refining use cases using a prebuilt use case template.
- Identify and collaborate with stakeholders including Business Data Stewards, Data Custodians, and Technical System Owners to ensure successful use case delivery.
- Develop detailed requirements, encompassing scope (assets, policies, functions, data quality rules, business rules, integration needs) and approach (acquisition methods, workflow).
- Design and execute test plans and test cases for use case validation in UAT.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer, training, and sign-off processes for Data Stewards and Data Custodians.

Business Glossary Development:

- Conduct training sessions on Business Glossary for Data Stewards and support them in building domain-specific glossaries.
- Develop and maintain standard business terms to accelerate glossary creation, leveraging tools like schema.org.
- Collaborate with offshore developers to upload business terms into production, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Work with Data Stewards and Data Owners to gain approval on Business Glossary elements.

Data Quality Rules (DQ) Management:

- Capture and manage data quality rules for use cases, coordinating access for data profiling.




- Review data profiling results with DQ Developers to identify and document data quality rules.
- Support categorization of data quality rules and facilitate integration into Collibra DGC.
- Collaborate with DQ Developers to validate, test, and verify data quality outcomes.
- Lead UAT validation efforts for data quality rules.

Technical Data Assets and Data Lineage:

- Conduct UAT validation of Data Assets and Data Lineage for source applications, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Work with Data Custodians and Technical System Owners to address and resolve any issues with data assets and lineage.
- Provide coaching on using Collibra for navigating data assets and lineage, ensuring team proficiency.
- Oversee production validation and approval processes for data assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management roles.
- Solid knowledge of data governance frameworks, business glossary development, and data quality management.
- Experience working with Collibra DGC or similar data governance platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in data quality rules, data lineage, and use case development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

- Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
- Familiarity with tools like schema.org for business term development.
- Experience with offshore team collaboration and knowledge transfer.
- Proficiency in developing training materials and conducting training sessions.
