Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a consultant with good programming and data analysis skills to join the Clean Air team. The role will further help CEEW's Clean Air team raise the bar. The role primarily involves analysing data from satellite-borne sensors, air quality models,
regulatory-grade monitoring, etc and building statistical models to quantify the impact of air quality management interventions on improving air quality. The role will also require the candidate to create web-based tools that analyse
the above data and provide actionable insights.
The candidate is expected to have good data analysis and presentation skills.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as and when necessary.
Job duties and accountabilities
Primary Responsibilities
Research â Write software programs to fetch and analyse air quality and data from diverse sources.
â Analyse data via statistical and machine learning models and build tools for the same.
â Perform statistical bias correction of air quality forecasts.
â Generate high-quality research reports, policy briefs and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. Generate other knowledge products such as blogs, policy briefs, etc., at regular intervals.
Programme assistance
â Support effective outreach of research outputs through coordination with the outreach team and engagement with a broader network of stakeholders and concerned policymakers.
â Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of developments relevant to the air quality sector.
Selection Criteria
Qualification
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Science, Engineering or related fields.
Work experience â 0-1 years of experience.
Key skills
â Ability to code proficiently in a programming language, preferably Python.
â Prior experience in a programming/data science role.
â Ability to present the work in a lucid manner.
â Creative thinker with demonstrated success in implementing out-of-the-box content ideas.
â Demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, projects and internal/external resources in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
â Robust drive and initiative, a self-starter.
Desirable skills â Ability to code in JavaScript.
â Experience with GIS software.
â Prior experience in backend development
