Job Summary: The Assistant Manager/Dy Manager - Engineering & Production Shop (CNC) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CNC production shop. This role involves managing the engineering and production processes, ensuring the efficient and timely production of high-quality components, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have solid technical expertise in CNC machining, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management:

- Oversee the daily operations of the CNC production shop.

- Schedule and coordinate production activities to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including machines, materials, and manpower.

- Engineering Support:

- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement CNC machining processes.

- Provide technical support for the design and optimization of CNC programs.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CNC machines and processes.

- Quality Assurance:

- Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.

- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the production process.

- Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CNC CAD-CAM Programmers, Machinists/Operators and Technicians.

- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

- Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and optimize production processes.

- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

- Maintenance and Safety:

- Ensure CNC machines and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.

- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

- Conduct regular safety training sessions for the team.

- Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, machine logs, and quality reports.

- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and metrics.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in CAM Programming and CNC machining.

- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong technical knowledge of CNC machines, programming,



and machining processes.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in using CNC programming software and CAD/CAM tools.

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
