Position Title: Bio-Medical Waste Management Trainer

Employment Type: Freelance / Contract / Full-Time

Training Mode: Onsite (Hospital/Healthcare Facility) / Virtual

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Bio-Medical Waste Management Trainer to design and deliver structured training programs focused on the safe handling, segregation, treatment, and disposal of biomedical waste — including common waste and liquid waste generated from Operation Theatres (OT) and Panchakarma units.

The trainer will be responsible for educating healthcare staff on regulatory compliance, infection control measures, environmental safety standards, and practical waste management procedures to ensure safe and lawful biomedical waste handling.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver comprehensive training on Bio-Medical Waste (BMW) Management protocols.

- Educate participants on proper waste segregation as per color-coded guidelines and regulatory norms.

- Train staff on handling of liquid waste from OT and Panchakarma procedures, including treatment and disposal processes.

- Conduct practical demonstrations on waste collection, storage, labelling, transportation, and disposal.

- Ensure alignment with national biomedical waste management regulations and pollution control norms.

- Conduct mock inspections and compliance audits.

- Train multidisciplinary teams including nurses, OT staff, housekeeping, Panchakarma therapists, and waste handlers.

- Provide guidance on infection control practices related to waste handling.

- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate effectiveness.

- Prepare training materials, SOP references, audit checklists,



and compliance reports.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Bio-Medical Waste Management rules and regulatory guidelines.

- Practical experience in hospital waste segregation, liquid waste treatment, and infection control practices.

- Familiarity with OT waste handling protocols and Panchakarma liquid waste management.

- Understanding of environmental safety and pollution control compliance standards.

- Ability to conduct practical demonstrations and mock drills.

- Solid presentation and facilitation skills.

- Capability to train clinical and non-clinical healthcare staff effectively.

- Experience in preparing audit documentation and compliance reports.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Hospital Administration, or Fire & Safety.

- Certification in Bio-Medical Waste Management / Infection Control preferred.

- Additional certification in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or Hospital Quality Standards is an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospital waste management, infection control, or healthcare compliance.

- Prior experience conducting biomedical waste training programs preferred.

- Experience handling and training on liquid waste treatment processes from OT and Panchakarma units.

- Familiarity with infection prevention and control (IPC) practices related to waste handling.
