A Billing Officer in a steel manufacturing company is responsible for managing the end-to-end invoicing process, ensuring accurate documentation of sales, dispatches, and taxes (GST) for finished goods like TMT bars, billets, or structural steel. They act as a critical link between the production, sales, logistics, and accounts departments. Key Responsibilities

- Invoicing & Documentation: Prepare and issue sales invoices, tax invoices, and proforma invoices accurately based on customer orders.
- Dispatch Billing: Coordinate with logistics and transporters to generate Delivery Challans and LR (Lorry Receipt) follow-ups for material dispatches.
- GST Compliance: Generate E-Way bills and E-Invoices in compliance with GST regulations (CGST, SGST, IGST).
- Data Entry & Verification: Enter daily dispatch data into ERP systems (such as SAP or Tally) to ensure accurate stock records and inventory updates.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile billing data with dispatch records and prepare daily/monthly MIS reports on sales and outstanding payments.
- Customer Support: Handle client inquiries regarding billing, payments,



and discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable Support: Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up with customers for timely collections.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in billing, specifically in manufacturing or steel/metal industries.
- Education: b.com or Any Graduate.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Tally ERP 9, SAP (mandatory for larger firms), and MS Excel.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GST compliance, E-Way bills, and invoice generation.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in dealing with numerical data and material weights.

Preferred Competencies
- Experience handling varied product lines (e.g., Pig Iron, Coal, TMT).
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with transporters and customers.
