Description FOR THE POST OF PROFESSOR

Essential

1. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and experience of ten years in teaching, research, industry and / or profession at the level of Professor/Associate Professor/Reader or equivalent grade with specialization in Musculoskeletal Sciences/ Orthopedics Medicine / Sports Medicine.

OR In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

First Class Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch and industrial / professional experience of ten years at a senior level comparable to Associate Professor / Reader with specialization in Musculoskeletal Sciences / Orthopedics Medicine / Sports Medicine.

- Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books, and / or technical reports.
- Experience of guiding the project work, dissertation of postgraduate or research students or supervising R & D projects in industry.
- Capacity to undertake / lead sponsored R & D, consultancy and related activities.

Desirable

1. Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and / or professional activities;
2. Evidence of service to University, the Profession and the Community;
3. Evidence of Curriculum Development.

FOR THE POST OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Essential

A Ph.D. Degree with First Class Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and experience of five years in teaching, research,



industry and / or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade; excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree with specialization in Musculoskeletal Sciences, / Orthopedics Medicine / Sports Medicine.

OR In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

First Class Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. degree in appropriate branch and industrial/professional experience of five years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer/Assistant Professor with specialization in Musculoskeletal Sciences / Orthopedics Medicine / Sports Medicine.

Desirable

1.Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization.

- Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books and / or technical reports.
- Experience of guiding the projects work, dissertation of postgraduate or research students or supervising R & D projects in industry.
- Evidence of Curriculum Development.

FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Essential

A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and desirable experience of 3 years in teaching, research, industry and / or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade with specialization in Musculoskeletal Sciences / Orthopedics Medicine / Sports Medicine

Desirable

1.Teaching, research industrial and / or skilled experience in a reputed organization and

- Papers presented at Conferences and / or published in referred journals.
