Job Title: AGM - Land Acquisition Manager

Reporting Line: Head – Land Acquisition

Department: Land Acquisition and Development

On Site/ HO Role: HO Role (Delhi) with extensive Travel

Purpose of the Position -

The Land Acquisition Manager develops strategies, secures permits, negotiates agreements, and manages a team. The role maintains relationships, budgets projects, and analyses the grid network. The role ensures compliance, handles the acquisition process, and applies for evacuation permits.

Responsibilities -

- Land Acquisition Strategy

i) Objectives:

· Develop and implement land acquisition strategies for renewable energy projects

· Identify potential land parcels and evaluate suitability ii) Measures:

· Quality of strategies proposed

· Number of land parcels identified

- Regulatory Compliance

i) Objectives:

· Secure approvals and permits from state and central agencies (nodal agencies, MOD, AAI, forest, mining, sanctuaries, evacuation, etc.)

· Work with the legal team to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including NA permissions

· Conduct due diligence on potential land acquisitions, environmental assessments, and zoning requirements.

· Handle end-to-end land acquisition process, including statutory norms, clearances, rules, regulations, and policies ii) Measures:

· 100% adherence to regulations and compliance

- Negotiation and Relationship Management

i) Objectives:

· Negotiate land purchase agreements with landowners, aggregators, communities, and government agencies

· Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners,



local communities, and government officials ii) Measures:

· Efficiency of negotiations

· Feedback from stakeholders

- Budgeting and Analysis

i) Objectives:

· Analyze grid network and future expansions to assess potential project areas

· Prepare project budgets for land acquisition ii) Measures:

· Accuracy and timeliness of budgets prepared

- Team Management and Collaboration

i) Objectives:

· Manage a team of land acquisition professionals; provide mentoring, coaching, and training

· Collaborate with legal, project management, wind resource assessment, construction, and finance teams to ensure the timely completion of land acquisition efforts ii) Measures:

· Number of trainings conducted

· Team size and performance outcomes

Skills and Qualifications -

- Qualification: Any qualification (LLB & LLM Preferred)

- Experience

o 12+ years in Land acquisition for Renewable projects.

o Experience of Land acquisition in multiple states, largely in the Western and Southern parts of India.

o Experience working with landowners, local communities, government, and nodal agencies.

- Knowledge –

o Deep understanding of land acquisition laws, processes, documentation, negotiation, and contract management.
- ICT Skills – technical abilities (for eg. How to use Auto CAD for the land team)

- Other Skills – Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

- Abilities –

o Analytical thinking and Problem-solving ability.

o Ability to manage a team and provide guidance and support to team members.

o Ability to work in a rapid-paced, dynamic environment.

- Language: English, Hindi Proficiency.
