Role & responsibilities
- Inspection & Laboratory Testing Inspect raw materials: Check incoming supply chain components against verified blueprints and standard material metrics.
- Conduct floor audits: Perform regular checks during the active assembly, machining, or packaging phases to spot structural or visual defects early.
- Verify dimensions: Use precision instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to confirm part compliance.
- Perform destructive/non-destructive tests: Assist senior staff with basic material tests, including tensile strength, hardness, and roughness tests.
- Log inspection results: Maintain daily, accurate quality logs, batch records, and reject charts.
- Issue defect alerts: Promptly isolate non-conforming materials and issue formal reports to production supervisors.
- Track tool calibrations: Monitor plant equipment schedules to confirm measuring devices remain properly calibrated.
- Support root-cause investigations: Help investigate process line failures and track Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
