The Junior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading in the maintenance of plant machinery, utilities, and equipment to ensure smooth production operations. The role involves carrying out preventive and breakdown maintenance, maintaining maintenance records, following safety procedures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires the candidate to work in a 12-hour shift with rotating day and night duty.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in carrying out preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and utility equipment.
- Perform routine inspection of machines and report any abnormalities to the Management.
- Attend minor machine breakdowns and support production team in resolving major breakdowns.
- Maintain daily maintenance logs, checklists, and equipment history records.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, and upkeep of machinery as per maintenance schedules.
- Lead in installation, commissioning, and shifting of machines and equipment.
- Monitor the availability of spare parts and inform the Management about replenishment requirements.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and the maintenance workshop are kept clean and organized.
- Follow all safety guidelines, use appropriate PPE, and comply with EHS and company safety policies.
- Support implementation of ISO, GMP, and other quality system requirements related to maintenance.
- Coordinate with the production team to minimize machine downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for improving machine efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.
- Report maintenance activities and machine status to the Management on a daily basis.
- Assist in proper handling and disposal of maintenance waste and scrap materials.
- Learn and develop technical skills related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and utility systems.
- Perform any other maintenance-related dutie
