Project Finance Analyst – Consulting Services (India)






Role Overview



We are seeking a highly analytical and detail -oriented Project
Finance Analyst to support financial governance across our consulting
engagements.



This role will focus on project costing, margin tracking,
forecasting support, and financial reporting. You will work closely with
Project Managers, Delivery Leadership, Operations, and Corporate Finance to
ensure financial visibility, cost discipline, and accuracy in project
reporting.



This is an execution -focused role with strong growth
potential into a senior Project Controller position.






Key Responsibilities



1. Project Budget & Cost Tracking



- Maintain detailed
project budgets in standardized templates

- Track actual costs vs
approved budgets

- Monitor labor cost
allocation (India/US teams)

- Validate timesheet data
and billable effort

- Ensure correct mapping
of subcontractor and expense costs





2. Margin & Utilization Monitoring


- Track:

- Gross margin %

- Contribution margin

- Billable utilization

- Realization rates

- Identify budget
variances and flag to leadership

- Support burn -rate
tracking and financial health indicators





3. Revenue & Forecasting Support


- Support revenue
forecasting (monthly/quarterly)

- Assist with
percentage -of -completion tracking

- Maintain backlog and
pipeline financial trackers

- Update rolling financial
projections

Reporting & Dashboarding


- Prepare standardized
monthly project financial dashboards

- Provide variance
analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast)

- Maintain centralized
project financial repository

- Ensure reporting
accuracy and timeliness





5. Process Discipline & Governance


- Ensure financial
templates are followed across all projects

- Track recurring
financial reporting tasks

- Improve data accuracy in
financial tracking systems

- Support continuous
improvement in project costing processes





Required Qualifications


- 3–5 years experience in:

- Project finance

- FP&A;

- Financial analysis in
IT services / consulting preferred

- Solid Excel skills
(advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling)

- Strong numerical
accuracy and attention to detail

- Basic understanding of
consulting metrics (utilization, margins)

- Ability to work
independently with structured guidance





Preferred Qualifications


- Experience in IT
consulting / SAP services organization

- Understanding of revenue
recognition concepts (POC method)

- Exposure to resource
planning and cost allocation
