Festivals From India is hiring for their client, Hampi Art Labs, who are looking for a Technical and Workshops Manager to join their team. The organisation is looking for a competent, dynamic individual with a strong sense of organisation to fill this position. The Technical and Workshops Manager will oversee the technical workshops (ceramics, printmaking, AV, and 3D printing) and coordinate the on -ground production of exhibitions in support of the programming team.
About Hampi Art Labs:
Based in the temple town of Vijayanagar (“victory -city”) in the south of India, Hampi Art Labs (HAL) functions as an artist -first centre bringing together three distinct aspects of art making in the contemporary moment – facilities for large -scale production, an workplace designed for artists to creatively retreat in, & galleries that present their opportunities for world class display – all spread across the same multi -acre space.
Please note:
1. The vetting process for this role comprises 2 -3 rounds of interviews and may be followed by a brief assignment.
2. Festivals From India is hiring for this role on behalf of our client.
3. This is an on -site, full -time position based in Karnataka.
4. Salary band for this role is available upon request.
5. Accommodation at a minimal cost and travel support will be provided.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Design, Printmaking, Ceramics,
Sculpture, Crafts. Candidates with Diplomas or Post -graduate Diplomas in any of the aforementioned fields may also apply.
- MFA or equivalent specialisation in Printmaking, Ceramics, Visual Arts, or related fields is preferred.
Essential Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience managing technical workshops, fabrication facilities, artist studios, maker spaces, educational workshops, or similar creative environments.
- Demonstrated experience working with printmaking and ceramics, as both designer and artist.
- Experience conducting training sessions, workshops, technical demonstrations, or educational programmes.
- Proven ability to manage equipment inventories, maintenance schedules, vendor coordination, and workshop operations.
- Experience supporting exhibitions, installations, artistic productions, or public programmes within arts and cultural institutions.
- Ability to work independently while supporting artists, residents, and multidisciplinary creative projects.
Key Personal Attributes & Skills:
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; fluency in English required, Hindi and/or Kannada preferred.
- Self -motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Strong technical aptitude with a focus on safety and equipment care.
- Passion for contemporary art and creative practice; active artists are encouraged to apply.
