Role Overview
This role is part of Client's Released Product Engineering (RPE) / Advanced Sustaining organization, focused on ensuring product continuity, lifecycle sustainability, and supply chain resilience. The engineer serves as a key interface between design engineering, supply chain, quality, and regulatory teams to proactively manage BOM health and component lifecycle risks.
Org Structure Mapping
• Reports into: RPE / Sustaining Engineering Manager
• Works closely with: Global RPE product owners, Global Supply Chain, Component Engineering COE, Supplier Quality, Design Engineering (NPI), Regulatory Affairs
• Key interfaces: Manufacturing sites, Procurement, External suppliers
• Scope: Released products + lifecycle management of electrical/electronic components
Key Responsibilities
• Own BOM health across product lines – lifecycle status, risk monitoring, and mitigation
• Lead component obsolescence strategy (EOL/NRND handling, last-time buy, redesign)
• Drive PCN impact analysis and engineering change execution
• Partner with product owners to Identify and qualify alternate components (form-fit-function)
• Partner with sourcing and suppliers to ensure continuity and availability
• Ensure compliance with IEC 60601 and internal quality systems
• Perform validation/testing for component substitutions and changes as necessary
