* Main contract: Review project completion plan to ensure that it meets
guaranteed date. Discuss and finalize with contractor to work towards target
date (decided internally based on guaranteed date). Review main contracting
plan received from
contractor at the start of the project. Review and approve bidders list for each contract.
Approve vendors list for critical material to be sourced domestically by
contractor. Recommend vendors based on previous experience. Check that
contracts are being awarded in a timely manner.
* BOP: Develop contracting plan for contracts that need to be awarded.
Review progress on contract document preparation by construction managers and
commercial team. Review bidders list and provide inputs if required. For
critical activities (pipeline, township, railroad siding etc.), check whether
job site of bidder has been visited and the team has evaluated safety and
quality and discuss with team. Review general conditions which can become
part of standard document and have the same reviewed by Legal. Review and
finalize on facilities to be supplied to contractor (e.g.,
water, electricity). Take actionsbased on decision (arrangements for watersupply) and
follow up on progress of execution. Review contracting plan and check status
on contracting process with commercial (contract preparation, evaluation,
awarding etc.). Provide inputs in technical evaluations if required. Provide
inputs for commercial
decisions (on whichbidders to be called). Meetcontractor post finalnegotiation before
contract is awarded. Communicate expectations on safety, quality, and
schedule. Start
building relationship withcontractor's top management. Review project planand focus
on sequencing, linkages between activities and impact of one activity on
another
In orderto ensure creation of an accurate project plan andawarding of contracts
as per schedule.
