What You'll Do
Build new features on our Python / AWS Serverless backend — Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3
Extend our AWS IoT Core layer for recent device capabilities — MQTT, device shadows, rules engine
Design and document the REST APIs our iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java) apps consume,



and support them through App Store / Play Store releases
Enhance our Alexa Skills and Google Home integrations, including account linking
Debug across the stack with the app team — device to cloud to app
Work with business, product, and operations teams to turn requirements into shipped features
Ship safely on a live system: backwards compatibility, staged rollouts, code review, CI/CD
What We're Looking For
3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong Python and AWS
AWS Serverless — hands-on production experience with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB
AWS IoT — AWS IoT Core, MQTT, device shadows, secure device-to-cloud communication
REST API design, plus a solid grasp of distributed systems, security, and performance
Experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps to the App Store / Play Store, and partnering closely with mobile developers on API design and versioning
Comfort extending an existing codeb
