JOB SUMMARY

Polaris is seeking a qualified tariff classification expert. This position requires a deep working knowledge of various country tariffs, as well as the respective country’s rulings, decisions, and other authoritative publications to maintain a compliant classification program. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at successfully arguing and defending accurate classification positions, as well as drafting, submitting, and monitoring ruling requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct research and establish Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications across multiple regions by applying legal notes, Rulings and country specific regulatory requirement.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, datasheets,



and MSDS to support accurate classification and update in ERP system
• Coordinate with suppliers to secure blanket statements, optimizing compliance *Coordinate with engineering teams and suppliers to obtain additional technical details required for precise HTS classification. Processes and saving time.
• Adhere to established escalation procedures and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Develop HTS classification rationale documents for products as required.
• Support the Free Trade team in resolving HTS‑related queries and expedite product classification for BOM qualification and supplier Solicitation.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to gain a thorough understanding of product features and specifications, ensuring accurate classification.
• Conduct periodic reviews of customs rulings and assess their impact on Polaris classification logic and rationales.
