Overview
Warranty Analyst Engineer
Responsibilities
Review and analyze warranty claims received from dealers, service centers, customers, and field operations.
Identify recurring failures, abnormal trends, and potential quality issues.
Validate warranty claims against applicable warranty policies and technical criteria.
Categorize claims based on failure mode, component, supplier, model, and application.
Initiate collection/recall of suspect warranty parts for detailed analysis.
Coordinate with dealers, service centers, warehouses, suppliers, and internal teams for part retrieval.
Analyze returned parts to determine whether the failure is attributable to the supplier, manufacturing process, design, assembly, or other causes.
Support technical investigations and root-cause analysis using appropriate quality tools.
Identify warranty claims attributable to supplier/component defects.
Prepare and initiate supplier chargeback claims based on validated warranty failures.
Calculate recoverable costs, including parts, labor, logistics, inspection, handling,
and other applicable warranty expenses.
Ensure supporting evidence is available for each chargeback.
Coordinate with Supplier Quality, Procurement, Finance, and suppliers for claim settlement.
Track disputed, accepted, rejected, and recovered chargeback amounts.
Follow up on pending claims to ensure timely financial recovery.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Essential skills
Coordinate supplier meetings for repeated or high-value warranty failures.
Communicate technical findings and commercial impact clearly to stakeholders.
Support field campaigns, service actions, recalls, and containment activities when required.
Work with suppliers and internal engineering teams to establish root cause.
Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor field performance after corrective actions are implemented.
