Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Steward to lead activities related to data documentation, definition, education, and governance. The candidate will shape how the organization interacts with, learns from, and uses its data. The individual should possess a strong background in managing and ensuring quality, security, and compliance of data assets. This role requires active collaboration across the organization using process-oriented approaches and spearheading knowledge management systems as the source of truth (e.g., Confluence, Snowflake, JIRA).
Duties and Responsibilities
• Data Acquisition
o Collaborate closely with the data acquisition team to identify new data sources to enhance current products and to develop new ones
o Validate ingested data against contracted expectations, assessing and communicating downstream effects to the rest of the organization
o Ensure ingested data aligns with Snowflake security configurations, access control policies, data tagging, and classification standards
• Product




o Ensure recent data sets are expedited to the product, routinely used, and conduct assessments on data element usage to inform business decisions
o Collaborate with technical product specialist owners and cross-functional teams to align data efforts with organizational goals
o Serve as subject matter expert to product functions related to data sources, definitions, lineage, and usage
• Knowledge Management
o Prioritize and champion data documentation efforts, ensuring comprehensive training on data sources, changes, and enhancements used to empower teams
o Own development and implementation of internal data cataloguing and metadata management tools
o Collaborate with product owners to document data definitions, business rules, definition owners, lineage, and data quality expectations followed by clear documentation of the above
o Maintain Snowflake metadata, including object tagging, data classification, and policy-based documentat
