The Checkup Magazine is looking for a part time Editorial & SEO Associate to work closely with the founder on the editorial side of the magazine.
The Checkup is a digital magazine for doctors in India, focused on conversations beyond clinical medicine; including medical careers, healthcare systems, doctor identity, business of medicine, lifestyle, finance, leadership, and life beyond the clinic.
We are looking for someone preferably from a medical, healthcare, life sciences, or allied health background who understands a doctor audience and can help improve the quality, reach, and consistency of our monthly issues.
Role: Editorial & SEO Associate
Location: Bandra, Mumbai
Timing: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Type: Part-time, hybrid
Compensation: ₹10,000/month
Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly Issue Planning
Help plan monthly magazine themes and article lineups
Identify relevant topics for a doctor audience
Create article calendars and publishing schedules
Coordinate with contributors and authors
2. Author Coordination
Reach out to doctors, writers, and contributors




Follow up for article submissions
Track article deadlines
Maintain contributor lists and editorial status sheets
3. Editing & SEO Optimization
Edit articles for clarity, structure, tone, and readability
Optimize articles for SEO using tools like Rank Math / Word Press SEO
Improve headlines, meta descriptions, slugs, tags, internal links, and excerpts
Ensure articles are suitable for a medical professional audience
4. Publishing & Website Management
Upload and publish articles on Word Press
Add images, captions, tags, categories, author bios, and internal links
Maintain consistency in formatting and presentation
Ensure every article is polished before publishing
5. Growth & Readership
Track article performance and monthly readership
Suggest ways to improve reach, engagement, and article quality
Identify topics that can attract more doctor readers
Work toward monthly readership and engagement goals
