We're hiring: Beverage R& D & Training Lead – Coffee, Matcha & Café Beverages
We are building a new café and beverage brand with ambitions to create a strong, scalable beverage program across multiple formats.
This is not a regular barista role.
We are looking for someone who can work closely with the founder to develop, test, standardise and train a full café beverage menu — coffee, cold coffee, matcha, teas, layered drinks, foams, cold beverages, signature drinks and future tap-based beverages.
What you will work on:
• Beverage trials and product development
• Espresso, milk beverages, cold coffee and cold brew
• Matcha, teas, layered drinks and café-style signature beverages
• Recipe cards with exact grams/ml/temperatures/process
• Costing, portioning and ingredient standardisation
• Shelf-life testing for syrups, bases, foams and batch preps
• Speed-of-service testing for café operations
• Training baristas and store teams
• Creating SOPs and beverage manuals
• Working with operations to decide which drinks can scale across different formats
Who we are looking for:
• Strong barista / café beverage background
• Experience in coffee and cold beverage preparation
• Comfortable with recipe development, trials and documentation
• Should understand both taste and operations
• Should not be limited to latte art or specialty coffee only
• Must be open to commercial café beverages, repeatability and scale
• Positive training ability is important
• Prior experience with café chains, premium cafés, coffee brands or beverage-led formats will be preferred
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building beverages from scratch and then making them repeatable across stores.
Location: Kolkata initially
Role may involve travel later as the brand expands.
